Late Afternoon – Sad

Quick trip to Lake Josephine – toughest lake to fish in the country!!! Started out real slow – and then the bite turned on about a 1/2 hour to 45 minuted before dark. We threw half the tackle box at em. Finally found a bait that worked – a gray trick worm laying on the bottom of the boat… discarded untouched bait thrown to the side from a previous outing. Caught this one, another smaller one, had another one literally break a hook in half… and then lost what have been the world record bass! or at least a really good fish. It pulled off at it was tangled in Lily pads. I’ve never felt a fish with that much power. I couldn’t pick up a pole for 20 minutes. Needless to say, a lake that is notoriously tough to catch decent fish on has me excited to return…
