Lake Toho Bass Fishing During a Cold Front (2021)

Lake Toho Bass fishing and cold fronts don’t usually mix very well. Lake Toho, and the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes, is a relatively shallow, grass-filled, group of lakes in Central Florida. They don’t generally like cold fronts. In this video, we were fortunate enough to be able to experience all stages of the front. We started off the morning in pre-frontal conditions with a south wind. Then, the rain, wind, and colder temperatures moved in. By day’s end, the weather cleared out, temps began to drop, and the wind began to blow from the NW. The fish were actually more active after the front moved through. Jerkbaits, 8″ Pippin8’r (trick worm), and Shad Jerk (soft plastic jerkbait) were the lures of choice.

  8. Chuck, your lures are amazing. 4 bass in 2 days and today I caught a bass that was about 4 pounds on my 3rd cast. Those other guys lures are in a drawer now. If anybody wants them, they can have them.

  9. I’ve run into the same issues recently. Lock jaw everywhere I go for the past 5 trips (2.5 months). Or I just suck because I don’t fish any more.

Thanks for the video Mr Pippin

Nice fish Chuckie….I am not a tree hugger in the least as you know, but when you weigh a fish try not to poke holes in its mouth beyond what the lure already does. It's not necessary to cause potential additional harm. Now if you must, at least debarb that hook on the scale so it's easy in and easy out! Sorry for being a nag.

Was out there Saturday the 2nd. Tossed everything and the kitchen sink, was a tough bite. 11lbs won the tournament.
